Archiving Policy

BIMA (Bulletin of Intelligent Machines and Algorithms) implements a long-term digital preservation archiving policy to ensure the availability, security, and sustainability of access to all published scientific content. This policy supports the journal’s full open access commitment, ensuring that scholarly works remain permanently accessible to the public without financial, legal, or technical barriers.

This journal uses LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) as its distributed archiving system. Through the LOCKSS network, copies of articles are securely stored in various participating libraries and institutions, ensuring the preservation and recovery of content in the event of data loss, technical disruptions, or discontinuation of service on the journal’s website.

In addition, BIMA is also registered with the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a digital archiving service provided by the Public Knowledge Project for journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS). The PKP Preservation Network provides long-term digital preservation by maintaining journal archives within a secure and managed distributed network.

All articles published in BIMA are automatically included in the LOCKSS and PKP Preservation Network archiving schemes. This ensures permanent access to published content that is made openly available under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), while preserving the integrity, authenticity, and citability of the scholarly record.

This archiving policy is consistent with the principles of long-term digital preservation recommended by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and aligns with BIMA’s open access policy, copyright retention by authors, and licensing framework under CC BY. It reflects the journal’s commitment to sustainable, transparent, and responsible scientific publishing practices.
