BIMA — Bulletin of Intelligent Machines and Algorithms

BIMA (Bulletin of Intelligent Machines and Algorithms) supports the dissemination and accessibility of scholarly research. In keeping with its open-access publishing approach, the journal permits authors to deposit their published articles in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, or other repositories of their choice, subject to the conditions set out in this policy.

1. Author Rights and Repository Deposit

Authors may deposit the published version of their articles in an institutional repository, subject repository, university archive, or other scholarly repository of their choice. Such deposits are permitted in accordance with the article's applicable open-access license and the terms of publication established by BIMA.

Authors may also share their published articles through personal academic webpages or other scholarly platforms, provided that the applicable license terms are respected and the original publication in BIMA is properly acknowledged.

This policy is intended to support the wider dissemination of research while maintaining a clear connection between repository copies and the official version of record published by BIMA.

01

Institutional Repositories

Authors may deposit their published articles in repositories maintained by universities, research institutions, or other academic organizations.

02

Subject Repositories

Authors may share their published work through relevant disciplinary or subject-based repositories.

03

Other Scholarly Platforms

Authors may share their published articles on personal academic webpages and other scholarly platforms under the applicable license terms.

2. Version of Record

The version of record is the final article published on the official BIMA journal website. Authors are encouraged to use this version when depositing their work in a repository, where permitted by the applicable license.

To support accurate citation and facilitate access to the original publication, repository records should include the following information whenever available:

  • Full article title
  • Names of all authors
  • Journal title: BIMA — Bulletin of Intelligent Machines and Algorithms
  • Publication year, volume, issue, and page numbers or article identifier, where applicable
  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI), where available
  • Link to the article's official page on the BIMA website

Repository records should not misrepresent the publication status, bibliographic details, or content of the original article. Any corrections or updates to the published version should be reflected through the journal's official publication record.

3. Copyright and Licensing

Repository deposits must comply with the copyright and licensing terms applicable to the published article. BIMA's stated open-access license is the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, as applicable to articles published under that license.

Under CC BY 4.0, users may share and adapt licensed material, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given, a link to the license is supplied, and changes are indicated where applicable. Authors and repository managers should consult the license associated with the specific article before depositing or reusing its content.

Further information about the license is available from Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International .

4. Access to the Published Article

BIMA provides open access to its published research through its official journal website. Depositing articles in external repositories can complement the journal's publication platform by providing additional routes through which readers, researchers, and academic institutions can discover and access scholarly work.

Authors are encouraged to provide a persistent link to the official article page whenever a repository copy is deposited. This helps readers identify the original publication and supports consistent citation of the scholarly record.

5. Policy Availability and Interpretation

This repository policy is published on the official BIMA journal website and is intended to provide authors, librarians, repository managers, and other interested parties with clear information about the journal's approach to repository deposit.

Authors who have questions about depositing a particular article should consult the article's license and publication information. Where clarification is needed, they may contact the journal's editorial team through the contact details provided on the official website.

Supporting Wider Access to Research

BIMA supports responsible scholarly sharing and the broader dissemination of published research. By allowing authors to deposit their published articles in repositories under the applicable license terms, the journal seeks to help research reach a wider academic and professional audience.
