The journal applies an open-access publishing model so that published articles can be read, accessed, and shared by researchers and the wider academic community.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright in their published work, subject to the rights granted to BIMA for the purpose of publishing, preserving, and disseminating the article as part of the journal's scholarly record.

Publication in BIMA does not transfer the author's underlying copyright to the publisher. The author's rights remain subject to the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license and any applicable rights relating to third-party content included in the article.

Author Rights

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, authors may share and distribute their published work in accordance with the license terms. Readers and other users may also reuse or adapt the work, provided that the original authorship and publication source are properly acknowledged.

Proper attribution should normally include the author's name, the title of the work, the journal or publication source, a reference to BIMA, and a link to the applicable Creative Commons license.

Third-Party Materials

Materials contained in a published article that are credited to a third party may not automatically be covered by the CC BY 4.0 license. Examples may include photographs, figures, datasets, illustrations, or other material for which the author has obtained permission from another rights holder.

Where separate copyright or licensing conditions apply, the relevant restrictions should be identified in the article. Users are responsible for determining whether additional permission is required before reusing third-party material.

The policy is intended to provide a clear framework for the use, sharing, and reuse of published scholarly content while maintaining appropriate recognition of authors and the published source.

Questions concerning the reuse of material that is not covered by the CC BY 4.0 license should be directed to the relevant copyright holder before the material is reproduced, adapted, or distributed.
